Principles of Performance - Steve Anderson's follow-up to Refinement and Repetition. This book includes 50 of the most common mistakes shooters make and also has 28 dry fire/live fire drills. As with the first book, charts are made available to record both dry fire and live fire progress. The book also includes a great interview Steve did with Lanny Bassham, winner of multiple Olympic gold medals and author of the book "With Winning In Mind". Principles of Performance is a great compliment to the first book. Price includes shipping.
The Shooter's Approach To Practice - Sam Conway's book covers all aspects of practice and practical shooting. This book covers basic fundamentals, movement, transitions, turns, doors, barricades, box entrances and exits, and much more. Filled with lots of drills, a 6 week training regimen, and performance log. Spiral bound and just the right size for the range bag. This new book from Saul Kirsch is hot off the press. Most shipments haven't even made it into the United States yet. I was able to pick up a few copies at the Nationals. This 206 page book covers accuracy and recoil control, scoring, attitude, visualization techniques, the mental aspect of the game, goal setting, and match preparation and tactics. Steve Anderson's "Refinement and Repetition" is the one guide every shooter can use to improve their skills dramatically without ever firing a shot. A great tool for anyone (which is most of us) that doesn't get as much range time as they would like. This book contains 38 dry fire drills that concentrate on every aspect of competitive shooting. Charts are provided with every drill to enable you to track both your dry fire and live fire progress. I guarantee if you discipline yourself to perform these drills on a regular basis, you will see improvement. The drills cover draws from multiple starting positions, single target acquisition and engagement, multiple target acquisition, reloads, movement, steel target engagement, and more. I have been using this book for some time and am excited about adding it to the inventory.
"Practical Shooting", by Brian Enos, is considered by many to be the ultimate practical shooting manual. This book is filled from cover to cover with valuable instruction and insights for the competitive shooter. One thing I've learned about this book is, you cannot outgrow it. It is helpful to the beginner, and even the seasoned veteran will learn something new every time he or she reads this book, no matter how many times they read it over the years. A must have addition to your library.
"Perfect Practice", written by International Grand Master Saul Kirsch, is a 150 page book with tons of information, drills, and exercises. If you're serious about improving your shooting, this book will be invaluable to you. The first one I picked up now has a permanent home in my range bag. Very professional publication with content that is nothing short of impressive. Good combination of instructional technique combined with live fire drills. There are some good books out there already and this one will take it's place with them as one of the best. Contains 54 different drills that cover every aspect of the sport. The chapters cover: - Precision Shooting 5 drills Each drill contains the following parts: - Description, - Goal of the drill, - Construction and layout pointers, - String of fire, - Suitable for, - Keep track of, a Picture on how to set up the drill and a Table for recording your results. A great addition to your shooting library.
