JP Adjustable Gas Blocks - are an integral part of a good “recoil management” system. Most rifles are over-gassed and the resulting bolt slamming effect is a very significant part of the felt recoil impulse, which impedes sight recovery. We found that controlling the bolt velocity made for a much smoother shooting rifle. This easy-to-install gas manifold allows you to tune your bolt velocity to a particular load and optimize the feel of your rifle. If you enlarge the gas port, it is possible to tune up or down in case you want to use reduced loads or in the case of some very short-barreled rifles, which are somewhat ammunition sensitive. You may also shut the system off if you don’t want to chase brass or give a hot brass shower to your neighbor on the firing line at the range.

The JP gas block gives a very professional looking way to eliminate the front sight on flat top rifles as opposed to cutting off the existing front sight as a makeshift approach to that problem. Our intent with the rail on top was to allow for quick-detach front sight, but this also allows for use of flashlights, lasers or any other accessory item you may have a use for.

 

Prior to purchase, please note the dimensions published for each gas block to ensure that the part in question will be compatible with other components in your rifle. On rare occasions, you may encounter difficulties with fitting a low-profile gas block under a non-JP hand guard.  We can only guarantee compatibility among other JP components. JP has the opportunity to test many of the products on the market, but has no control over any design, dimensional or tolerance changes made by other manufacturers. It is therefore difficult for us to comment via phone or email as to the compatibility of JP components with those of other manufacturers. In the end, ensuring the compatibility of parts rests with you, and some quick measurements prior to purchase can save a good deal of inconvenience later on.

JP Custom Operating Springs - If you’ve had a chance to shoot or handle a JP rifle, one of the first things you probably noticed was the smooth feel of the nearly silent action; this is not an accident.  In addition to high grade bolts and carriers, one of the most important ingredients in rifle quality is a tuned action spring.

If there is one thing I hate in any gun, it’s an action that sounds like a spoon running over a cheese grater.  I want my guns to be as silent and smooth as possible.  These springs bring about that end.  After much experimentation, JP introduced a custom operating spring which is about 7% over the standard rate. They are centerless ground and then polished to a mirror finish, resulting is a quieter and smoother action and enhanced sight recovery/reliability due to the rate change. These are really nice springs.  Try one—it’s a big improvement for a few dollars.  Available for AR-15 rifle and carbines, and 308 rifle applications.  223 springs are $19.95 and 308s are $22.95.

JP Optics Mount - this flat top mounting system is extremely robust and returns precisely to zero if removed and replaced. It offers the most ideal compromise between height and forward offset to be used on typical low rail flat top receivers with Mil-std 1913 Picatinny rail systems with longer eye relief high end scopes. The profile is also an exact match to JP machined billet upper receivers such as the LRP-07 or the SCR-11 for an added touch. No unsightly levers or knobs on this mount as we feel that most people don’t really need a “quick detach” capability on their mount, but once set up would rather leave well enough alone.

This mount will accommodate any 30mm scopes, and includes a set of ring adapters so that it can be used with 1" scopes.  Features integrated recoil lug.   Intermediate height is ideal for AR applications and will accommodate a 56mm objective.  Height to centerline: 1.5" over rail.  Attachment: 5 countersunk flat head screws on clamp piece, 6x32 cap screws on straps (x 4) (Torx keys included).
